Yes my friends, hilarious the above may be but o so true! As we all put our whites away after Labor Day and pulled out our cozy sweaters and boots, another fantastic realization came to us - the season of house parties is here and so the long winter that we are gearing up for won't be so drab after all. Girls night at a fancy rooftop in Manhattan will now be replaced by an evening at your Bff's place, endless bottles of Red and sessions of Jenga or Taboo will now be a regular feature of your weekends. That definitely makes me feel better about bidding adieu to the gorgeous summer we had.
I have mentioned before, I love entertaining. I love planning parties & game night at home and so needless to say that I have coined a name for this season too - It's the season of Friendsgiving people!!!
I started this post with a funny quote about Alcohol so I am going to talk about the most important aspect of a get together - The Drink Station! Charm your guests by organizing a drink station that keeps the fun flowing. From choosing what to serve to the best serving pieces, a drink station needs some thought and ideas and I am going to give those to you :)
The setting
Choose a location for your drink station that’s convenient for guests to gather around as they assemble their beverages. A large buffet or console table is ideal and make sure you provide easy access to it and the table is high enough for people to comfortably mix their drinks. A little mood music & lights never hurt :)
Table setting
Again, a proper table setting can never go out of style. Your friends may not always say it to your face but they notice and admire the little details that make your parties and your decor unique. Set an elegant table to showcase your drinks & food by incorporating table linen , tiered serve ware and some unique statement decor . For a narrow table, a beautiful table runner draped across the top would add color and elegance. Table linens come in a wide variety of patterns & fabrics for you to choose,my personal favorite is organic cotton with simple small prints
Accessorize your table with the right decor, experiment with different pieces. Tiered serving plates are a big hit, they add multiple levels of culinary delight to your table.
Embrace the season of house parties by showing off your treasured unique statement decor pieces. Put together a look with serving tray and wooden coasters
Placemats & napkins add thoughtfulness & style and sort of bring the whole table together. You can even place your table napkins stuffed inside your elegant stemware
Layer your table with pieces to create an interesting tablescape for your guests which they find warm, unique and inviting. A pair of tea light lamps complete this warm look.
